For the first time ever, the University of Hartford Hawks are dancing. Not only is this the Hawks first American East Championship, it’s the first time they have ever made the American East finals.
Yesterday, the Hawks beat the UMass Lowell River Hawks 64-50 in West Hartford, CT on Hartfords campus. Hartford was led by the guard tandem of Traci Carter who dropped 19 points and Austin Williams with 17 points.
On the other side of the court, Lowell’s big contributor was guard Obadiah Noel who racked up 15 points with 8 rebounds in the loss.
It is an exciting time to be a basketball fan living in Connecticut. Hartford and UConn are going to be dancing this year and I am so pumped up to watch these scrappy, underdog squads play.
