The Raiders Lose Three Starting Offensive Linemen In The Past Week
Absolutely brutal week for Derek Carr as he loses three starting offensive linemen.
And this weeks Big Loser award goes to… Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. Carr has just lost his starting center, a starting guard, and his starting right tackle all in the span of one week. He’ll be running for his life game in and game out next season.
The Raiders dealt tackle Trent Brown to the Patriots in exchange for a 5th round selection. While Brown was not healthy for the majority of last season, this is still a tremendous loss.
He is a mountain of a man that is efficient in the run game and an awesome pass protector. New England gets a gem in exchange for nothing.
Then today, Vegas decided to deal their stud of a center Rodney Hudson for a third round pick. Hudson is a super intelligent player that, when healthy, is a top three center in the entire league. This move probably hurts Carr the most.
Carr must have thought, “This really cannot get worse”, well, it got worse. The Raiders proceeded to trade guard Gabe Jackson to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a 5th round pick. Absolutely blasphemous!
I will be saying a prayer night after night for Derek Carr because he is going to need it. I wonder what has been going through Mike Mayock and Jon Grudens brain this past week. Very strange.
