The Vikings Extend Right Tackle Brian O'Neill
Minnesota is keeping their top dog in the trenches around.
Big news coming out of Minneapolis today as the Vikings have extended their best offensive lineman, Brian O’Neill. The Pitt alumni is now the second highest paid right tackle as he is making 92.5 million dollars over five years.
O’Neill was drafted 62nd overall in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh University by the Vikings. He began his career as a backup but had his first career start in week six of the 2018 season when Reilly Reiff got hurt and held the starting job ever since.
The 6’7, Delaware native had a PFF grade of 78.0 last season. On 1,070 snaps, O’Neill only allowed three sacks which is impressive in a division that faces Khalil Mack and Za'Darius Smith twice a year.
Great move here by my Vikings, fired up to see O’Neill staying in purple for another five seasons.
