The Vikings Have Made A Splash
Minnesota signs three defensive players; doesn’t address the offensive line.
OH BOY, I am fired up for the Vikings new signings. Minnesota went out and grabbed a dominant run stopper, a veteran corner, and a linebacker that’ll be a key component on special teams.
Minnesotas first signing was the 320 pound UNIT named Dalvin Tomlinson. It will be impossible for teams to run the rock on the Vikings front seven with Dalvin Tomlinson coming in and Michael Pierce coming off the reserve list.
Tomlinson was super productive in New York with the Giants. He recorded 25 tackles and 3.5 sacks, which is extremely impressive for a primary run stopper. I love this move. The Vikings signed him to a 2 year, 21 million dollar deal.
Then, that same night the Vikings signed Tomlinson, they brought in linebacker Nick Vigil. I don’t think he’ll have a starting role on the team but will be a big contributor on special teams.
Last season in 15 games with the Chargers, Vigil recorded 29 tackles, 2 sacks, and 1 forced fumble. He is well worth the 1 year, 1.75 million dollar deal.
Now tonight, Minnesota brought in a veteran to help out in the secondary. Patrick Peterson is joining the new age Purple People Eaters on a 1 year, 10 million dollar deal. He adds great veteran leadership to a young group of cornerbacks.
With the defensive additions the Vikings have made, I think that it is certain they will target offensive line at 14. Hopefully Christian Darrisaw or Alijah Vera-Tucker.
