Last year, one of the most pivotal events in sports history occurred in the Barstool Sports headquarters. Big Cat, the host of Pardon My Take and avid sex haver won a National Championship with the University of Tennessee on NCAA 2014. While winning the Natty was huge for Big Cat, it did birth a character in the Barstool world that is currently an employee at the company.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, many media companies that focused on sports were left with no ideas and a lack of content. That wasn’t the case for Barstool. The company adapted and started things like The Dozen Trivia and Surviving Barstool. For Big Cat, he dusted off a relic of a video game in NCAA 2014 and made a 350 pound head coach that bounced from program to program. His name was Coach Duggs.
Coach Duggs started his career in Toledo and bounced around from Florida State, Texas Tech, and USC. He won a National Championship in Knoxville, the first time that Vols football has won since the 90’s.
When Big Cat was at Florida State, a man from Jacksonville traveled to Tallahassee and rocked a maroon golf shirt. He continued this trend for Twitter and changed his golf shirt when Big Cat took Duggs to USC, to Texas Tech, and finished off in Knoxville.
Now, Coach Duggs is employed by Barstool and mini golfs with Frank the Tank, opens up trading cards, and coached in the Pink Whitney Hockey Cup.
For Big Cat, he reached the pinnacle of coaching in a seven year old video game. Him and his staff consisting of PFT Commenter and Billy Football smoked cigars and went on a Miller Lite bender in the office. Big Cat winning with the Volunteers is the ultimate “Where were you when…” moment.
