This Day In Sports History; March 10
10 year anniversary of Cardiac Kemba, Happy Birthday Justin Herbert.
“Kemba Walker, step back, Walker, CARDIAC KEMBA DOES IT AGAIN. UCONN WINS AT THE BUZZER.” Ten years ago today, the legend of Cardiac Kemba was born.
Walker came off a screen with seven seconds and had a mismatch with Pittsburgh forward Gary McGhee. He dribbled as if he was going to pass him, pulled the ball back and dropped McGhee to his butt. He then proceeded to drain a fadeaway shot at the buzzer to beat number three Pittsburgh 76-74.
Now, whenever March rolls around, the Cardiac Kemba clip can be found on every basketball and sports media site. Walker has cemented himself as a solid guard in the NBA with a huge play in March while McGhee will be remembered as the big man who hit the floor.
In other sports new relating to March 10, happy birthday Justin Herbert. The 6’6 gunslinger out of Eugene, Oregon played for the Ducks from 2016-2019 where he racked up 10,541 yards and 95 touchdowns.
Herbert was taken sixth overall by the L.A Chargers and because of the Chargers team doctors being incompetent and mishandling Tyrod Taylors injury, he was able to step in and dominate.
He ended the season with 4,336 yards, 31 passing touchdowns, and 5 rushing touchdowns thus sealing the deal as the Offensive Rookie of the Year. Herbert has a bright future in the league as long as his offensive line can perform. Happy 23rd young gun.
