Wentz is gone and now Ertz is most likely on the move. Here are three potential landing spots for the athletic pass catcher.
The first team that I think Ertz could land on is the Green Bay Packers. The Packers have Robert Tonyan but, adding another tight end could bring the Packers passing attack to the next level. Outside of Davante Adams and Tonyan, Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have great weapons.
Ertz could thrive in the Packers offense because he is a sneaky good route runner and is a solid run blocker. Great fit here and Green Bay could land him for a fourth round pick or depth at the linebacker and or receiver position.
Another spot for Ertz is the New England Patriots. They just resigned Cam Newton and need to add weapons around him. Since Gronk, they haven’t filled that void at tight end because Keene and Asiasi aren’t the answer. Newton only threw eight touchdowns last season and giving him Ertz would be HUGE.
Once again, they could land Ertz for cheap because the Eagles are looking to ship him out of the city of brotherly love.
The third spot that Zach Ertz could be catching passes in next season is the Cincinnati Bengals. They have a super young receiving core and adding a veteran tight end like Ertz would help Burrow out a ton. He could help in check down situations and be utilized in the run game blocking for Joe Mixon.
Cincinnati just can’t give up early picks because they need to prioritize the offensive line position to help Burrow out.
