Vikings Add to Their Defensive Staff
Paul Guenther lands in Minneapolis on the defensive side of the rock.
Ex-Raiders defensive coordinator, Paul Guenther, who got shit canned midway through last season has landed on the Vikings as a senior defensive assistant.
Guenther rejoins Mike Zimmer after they coached together in Cincinnati for six seasons. Once Zimmer departed from the Bengals, Guenther took over as the Bengals defensive coordinator.
This is a solid pickup to help Zimmer deal with a defense that struggled a lot last year. The Vikings have an abundance of young playmakers like Cam Dantzler, Troy Dye, and DJ Wonnum that have a boat load of potential and with a veteran presence on the staff that has an understanding of what Zimmer wants, these dudes can excel.
All in all, I love this addition along with the multiple other moves they made to the staff and this next season should be a super exciting one.
