Vikings Running Back Dalvin Cook Is Bringing His Old Florida State Number Back
The return of number 4.
With skill position players being able to rock single digits, like they did in college last season, we saw stars like Jalen Ramsey, Budda Baker, and Julio Jones change their digits. Now going into year two of this rule, another star is changing his number.
Vikings running back Dalvin Cook, who rushed for 1,159 yards and 6 touchdowns in 2021, will be changing his number from 33 to 4. When Cook played from 2014 to 2016 at Florida State he rocked number 4. In his three seasons at FSU, Cook rushed for 4,464 yards and 46 touchdowns. He was also named 1 time Second Team All ACC, 2 time First Team All ACC, and was a 2 time All American in 2015 and 2016.
I won’t lie, the number 4 look is a pretty clean look, but 33 on a running back is badass. Cooks been a staple in the Vikings backfield rocking doubles threes since 2017, but now he joins another Viking skill that rocks the single digit, cornerback Patrick Peterson.
Peterson switched from 21 to 7 when he signed with the Vikings in the 2021 offseason. The LSU alum rocked 7 for the Tigers as a part of the 7 tradition. Other LSU players that donned the coveted 7 was Tyrann Mathieu, Grant Delpit, and D.J. Chark.
It I’ll be a new look in the Vikings backfield, but as long as Cooks still running the rock, I’m happy.
