This is an album that I own on vinyl, but it’s one that I’ve never explored past the hits like 505 or Fluorescent Adolescent. And while those are great songs, walking to the entirety of this album opened my eyes to more of the greatness that is the Arctic Monkeys.
Favourite Worst Nightmare was released in April of 2007 and is the second studio album from Arctic Monkey’s following my favorite album from them, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. A fun fact I found in my research about the album is that the band nearly named it Lesbian Wednesdays. Look, I don’t know what that means, but I kind of mess with it. Nevertheless, the albums great as it blends harder punk rock packed with angst with softer indie rock that has loving connotations. It’s actually a pretty even split on the record. Six songs are head pounding rock songs and six are loving ballads with smooth guitar.
While I do love this album, I’d probably rank it fourth in my overall rankings of the Arctic Monkeys discography. That’s no knock on Favourite Worst Nightmare. It’s more of a testament to how great the Arctic Monkeys are as a band.

Should You Walk To It?
Yes. Definitely. The solid mixture of hard rock and softer songs on the albums back half make for a good song to walk to. Its 37 minute play time is also ideal for a nice, easy walk. It’s a better pick than Back To Black, which was the last album I walked to.
