Last week helped push my monthly total into the green and because of that, I’ll give ya four picks that are sure to score you some dough.
First game isn’t my lock of the week, it’s just a game I feel like I need to bet on. I like the winless UConn Huskies +14.5 at the 1-3 Vanderbilt Commodores. Two teams with a combine eight losses and one win, we could see the Huskies stay winless or Vandy get their second dub of the year.
While I do not think UConn wins the game, I do think they cover the 14.5 point spread. The Huskies are hot. Sorta. They came very close to winning their first game last week as they fell 24-22 to Wyoming.
Also, Vandys only win came to a dismal Colorado State. The Commodores lost to East Tennessee State. Two bad teams, but I like UConn +14.5 at Vanderbilt.
The next game is my lock of the week and I’m sticking with my lock of the week from last week. I love Boston College +15.5 at Clemson this Saturday.
The Eagles pulled off an upset against Missouri last week and with the way Clemson has been playing, I like the chances for Dennis Grosel and the Eagles. Their defense is stout and forces turnovers while the Clemson offense has been far from sharp.
In my honest opinion, BC is going to come into this game pissed off because they should be ranked in the top 25 and Clemson should not be. This game is about respect.
The key factor like I mentioned last week is the BC defense against the opposing quarterback and this week it is DJ Uiagalelei. In four games, he has thrown for 586 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions.
BC’s defense is going to swarm this week and have a repeat of last week where they forced two interceptions against Mizzou.
Andrew Diaz’s lock of the week is Boston College +15.5 at Clemson. Sign it. Seal it. Done.
The next game I really like is Notre Dame +1.5 at home against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
The Irish pulled off the upset of Wisconsin last week in commanding form as they won 41-13. Now they’re looking to beat another ranked opponent and Cincinnati is on the slate.
Notre Dames passing game will need to heat up for them to win and after their quarterback tandem play from last week, I feel very confident. Jack Coan threw for 178 yards with 1 touchdown and CT native Drew Pyne passed for a touchdown and 81 yards.
As an Irish fan, it was nice to see the defense actually play a full game against Wisconsin and if they bring that play against the Bearcats then they’ll have no issue winning.
Linebacker Jack Kiser tallied 6 tackles and a pick six while fellow linebacker Drew White racked up 3 tackles and an interception.
Notre Dame +1.5 at home against Cincinnati, HAMMER IT.
And I’ll leave you with one final pick. Give me Penn State -12.5 at home against the Indiana Hoosiers.
I’ve bet against Indiana in past weeks and it’s worked to my benefit. What a disappointing squad this season.
On the other hand, Sean Clifford and the Penn State Nittany Lions have been electric. They are 4-0 with big wins over Wisconsin in Madison and Auburn.
This is a large point spread, two scores, but with how well Penn State has played and how poor Michael Penix Jr., and the Hoosiers have performed, I love the Nittany Lions -12.5 on their home turf.
We’re going 4-0 with Penn State -12.5 at home against Indiana.
