What a week. Just pulled my average to above .500 as I sit with a record of 5-4 on the year thus far. The only thing I’m bitter about is that I was half a point away from going 3-0.
One of my picks this week, the one that didn’t hit, was the Mississippi State Bulldogs +2.5 at home against the LSU Tigers, and it was so damn close. Miss State lost 28-25. A half fucking point.
A half point kept me from going 3-0 this week. Pretty frustrating.
While Mike Leach and Mississippi State have got me fired up, I can’t be too upset seeing that my lock of the week, Boston College +2.5 at home against Missouri hit. And my prediction was right that the spread wouldn’t even be a factor. The Eagles are legit.
I did get my prediction wrong that BC would hold Connor Bazelak to under 200 passing yards, but I didn’t bet on that so we’re in the clear.
The Eagles defense did ball out though as they forced Bazelak to throw two interceptions, one at the hands of CT native Brandon Sebastian, who also tallied 7 tackles.
Pat Garwo III got the job done on the carpet for Boston College and was a huge contributor in this win. He carried the ball 25 times for 175 yards with 2 touchdowns.
Huge day for the Eagles to win and not even think about the spread.
The other game that hit for me this weekend was Notre Dame at Wisconsin over 46.5 points. The Irish pulled off the upset and won 41-13 as they were six point underdogs.
Notre Dame was led by great quarterback play from Jack Coan who passed for 158 yards and a touchdown while CT native Drew Pyne helped as he passed for 81 yards and a touchdown.
Brian Kellys squad had two pick sixes late which pushed them to cover and banged the over. 2-1 on the week is HUGE.
