So last week wasn’t awesome. I went 1-2, my lock of the week, Ohio State -14.5 over Oregon lost along with the Buckeyes and Notre Dame didn’t cover the 16.5 point spread against the Toledo Rockets.
Thank God for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones staying under 46.5.
After a rough week last week, I am back with three picks that are sure to win you some dough. First, my lock of the week.
Last week I took a very high profile game in Ohio State against Oregon as my lock and it completely missed. This week I’ll be rocking with a BIG Ten, AAC matchup.
For my lock, I’ll be taking Cincinnati -3.5 on the road against the Indiana Hoosiers.
The Bearcats are ranked eighth in the nation and have a veteran quarterback in Desmond Ridder at the helm. Honestly, this 3.5 point spread is fairly shocking. I think that Cincinnati will win by double digits.
Indiana is still hungover from a solid 2020 season and have yet to show that they’re a legit squad. Michael Penix Jr. has posted a stat line of 224 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, and 3 picks in the Hoosiers first two games against Iowa and Idaho.
The Hoosiers got smoked 34-6 by the Hawkeyes in week one and I believe that the Bearcats are on the same level as Iowa. Lock it in, Cincinnati -3.5 on the road against the Indiana Hoosiers. IT’S A LOCK.
My next pick for the weekend is another game with the spread, this time a MASSIVE, a GIGUNDOUS spread. I like the Black Knights from West Point at home -33.5 against the dismal UConn Huskies.
Now UConn is bad. They are very bad. They also just had their head coach resign after losing to an FCS school and with an interim head coach, nothing changed. They lost 49-0 to the Purdue Boilermakers who are a mid tier BIG Ten squad.
UConn is 0-3 and have no playmakers. Their quarterbacks have combined for 345 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions over three games.
You may be thinking “That’s a real big spread, I’m going to stay away from that.” Do not think that. Army has an immaculate run game and has combined for 130 points in three games.
Along with an explosive offense, the Black Knights defense has held Mercer, Western Kentucky, and Georgia State 48 points.
I almost want to make this game a lock because of how good Army looks and how bad UConn is, but I do feel a lot more confident in Cincinnati -3.5 against Indiana. Never mind that, take Army -33.5 against the dog shit Huskies.
My final selection for this weekend in college football is, drum roll please… Alabama vs Florida, take the over of 58.5.
Reader, I’m not sure if you’re aware, but Alabama is very good. Like very good.
The Tides offense has put up 92 points in two games against Mercer and Miami, and it doesn’t feel like they’re going to be slowing down anytime soon.
Bryce Young has not looked like a quarterback that is just stepping into college play. He’s looked awesome. In the Tides two games, he has posted 571 passing yards and 7 touchdowns with no interceptions.
For the Gators from the swamp, they are also 2-0 and are ranked eleventh in the nation. They’ve combined for 77 points, but haven’t faced a real competitor yet. Their first two games have been against two bottom tier Florida teams in FAU and USF.
I believe that Alabama blows out Florida, BUT they put up enough points to push the over to 58.5 points. Bryce Young will have another great game and help me got 3-0 for week three.
Let’s go, time to bounce back.
