What Is Tight End University?
A look at the new tight end fraternity put together by some of todays best.
Many football fans that don’t love the offseason may not know what Tight End University is. Well, you’re in luck because I LOVE the offseason.
Tight End University was founded by two of todays best players in San Franciscos George Kittle and Kansas City’s Travis Kelce along with recent retiree Greg Olsen. They are hosting forty of the games best pass catchers that also know how to lay a block in Nashville, Tennessee.
The trio has somewhat modeled Tight End U after other similar summits run by NFL players like Von Millers Pass Rush Summit and Lane Johnson’s OL Masterminds Summit. The main goal for all of these gatherings is to gather some of the leagues best and brightest minds to collaborate and get better at their craft.
Kelce, Kittle, and Olsen have planned to run this event over a three day period incorporating field work with film study. The players get to work on route running, blocking, and reeling in passes. Iron sharpens iron.
Tight End U isn’t just there for the players though, they will also be hosting a camp for the Boys and Girls Club. This gives kids a once in a lifetime opportunity to play football with NFL superstars. I won’t lie, you may see a three hundred pound “twelve” year old with a mullet running routes with Irv Smith Jr. in Nashville this weekend.
While Kelce, Kittle, and Olsen got Tight End U off the ground, they received lots of help from sponsors who jumped in. Bud Light, Charmin, Bose, Body Armor and Nike are all part of these reason that this summit could commence.
When Tight End U was starting off, the founding trio believed that it’d only have around twenty player but forty plus have shown out for it. Below is a list of all tight ends in attendance. Is your teams tight end in Nashville?
