Where Will the "Bauer-outage" Land?
Last years NL Cy Young winner has narrowed his list of teams to two.
This years Belle of the Ball in MLB free agency has been last years NL Cy Young winner, Trevor Bauer. Today he narrowed his list of teams to two according to his agent, Rachel Luba, and those two teams are the Dodgers and Mets.
The drone nerd from North Hollywood has been courted by just about every team this offseason and everyday a different report comes out that maybe the Yankees are hot on him, or that the Blue Jays are the front runners, or even that the Padres are close to a deal but, this report feels the most legit coming from his agent.
Seeing Bauer as a Met is a really intriguing thought. Seeing him in a rotation with deGrom, Stroman, and Carrasco would tear up the National League and for some reason, watching the Mets play good is an exciting thing.
New York has been on a role this offseason bringing in Michael Conforto, Francisco Lindor, and Edwin Diaz. This would be one big cherry on top of a delicious ice hot fudge sundae for the Mets if they can sign Bauer.
On the other hand, Bauer is a North Hollywood kid so, could he make his triumphant return to California and play for the Dodgers? Adding him into the Dodgers rotation would be like when Durant signed with the Warriors. A pitching rotation of Clayton Kershaw, Julio Urias, and Walker Buehler is already dominant but, putting Bauer in there can be game over for every other team in the league.
Which ever team lands Bauer is getting one of the leagues best all around players and could get the top odds to win the World Series.
