Who Wants Wentz?
Eagles backup quarterback, Carson Wentz will be shipped out of Philly very soon but, what team will make the trade for him?
The former Eagles starter is on the trade block and there are a handful of teams around the league that can land the former second overall pick.
In my honest opinion, the top team that should target Wentz is the Indianapolis Colts. They have great, young weapons like Michael Pittman Jr., Jonathon Taylor, and Trey Burton along with one of the leagues best offensive lines. If they make a deal for Wentz and can hold onto their first round pick this season, then they can draft a tackle like Christian Darrisaw or Liam Eichenberg to replace Anthony Castonzo.
A trade package that the Colts can offer to the Eagles would be Wentz and a fourth round selection for the Colts second rounder this season, second rounder next season, and Jacoby Brissett. They could interchange Brissett for defensive tackle Rob Windsor and a 5th round pick.
Another team in the market for Wentz is the Chicago Bears. A trade package for Da Bears to acquire Wentz would be Nick Foles and their first round selection this season. Wentz would be a huge upgrade at the quarterback position for Chicago compared to Foles or Mitch Trubisky.
The third franchise I can see landing Wentz is the Washington Football Team. This could go one of two ways for the Eagles. Wentz could torch them two times next season and really make them pay or, Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham could make life difficult for him and make him play the way he did that got him replaced.
Ron Rivera and the WFT could trade their second round pick this season, second rounder next season, a fourth next season, and Taylor Heinicke. That would be a tough package for Philly to turn down.
Where ever Carson Wentz ends up, I hope he gets the second chance that he rightfully deserves.
